kanoon music. The word "kanoon" [:kanuun] is adapted from the Swedish language, meaning "amazing" and/or "cannon". In October 2009, Max Rüdel founded kanoon - management & booking in Munich, Germany, as a tour promotion agency. In June 2010, kanoon records GmbH was founded as an Independent Music Label. kanoon scouts and signs artists from all over the world; records are distributed in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria by NEO Entertainment which is using the motor of Sony Music Distribution. In October 2012, Markus Kaiser joined the company. Together, Max and Markus developed the idea of a community label. In December, Jörg Wigger joined the team and kanoon started to develop a Community Label Platform. In March 2013, the beta version of www.kanoon-music.com was launched. Moreover, Celia Schweyer (Community Management) and Sandra Eichner (Promotion Management) joined the team. Common goal of kanoon is to identify international talents and to help establishing these artists within the German-speaking countries. The kanoon philosophy is to democratize music industry and its processes, and to handover decision-making power to the audience itself. We believe that the crowd may be music producers themselves; let the audience decide which acts and artists are to be chosen, talked about, promoted, and marketed.
