Neue Schullektüren

(openPR) Der Verlag DAVENPORT STORIES ist um zwei neue Titel gewachsen!
Dank dem guten Zuspruch für die ersten zwei Titel unseres Verlags, haben wir jetzt zwei neue Titel hinzugefügt.
Die Geschichte 'Showdown at St. Ann’s', für 7. und 8. Klassen, geht um Gewalt in der Schule, leider noch immer eine aktuelle Problematik.
'Run For Your Life', für Klassen 9. und 10., basiert auf der Arbeit der US-Organisation, Wings of America, die es zum Ziel gesetzt hat, indianische Jugendliche zu fördern. In Mittelpunkt der Geschichte steht ein Navajo Mädchen, das den Traum hat, eine berühmte Läuferin zu werden.

'Run for your Life' is about how a girl struggles to achieve her dream. Cassie Straydeer, a Navajo Indian, is happy with her couch-potato lifestyle until the day she sees a girl win a race. Now Cassie’s goal is to become a champion long-distance runner like that girl! One of the many obstacles she faces are her classmates. They like Cassie – as she is. They don’t like the Cassie-who-wants-to-become-a-runner and begin bullying her. But the greatest obstacle of all is her own brother! Wild with jealousy, he will do anything to stop Cassie from achieving her goal!

'Showdown at St. Ann’s' is the story of a school in the grip of a ruthless youth gang. Helpless, the students submit to their fate, while the teachers look the other way. One day, a new boy comes to school. The students think the little guy is cool. They are surprised when they learn that he is a black belt holder. The gang learns this the hard way, and takes brutal revenge on him. But then, at the urging of friends, he forms a judo troop and prepares them to take on the gang. A showdown is in the air!
