The New Karolinska Solna is the largest project ever by the Stockholm County Council as well as being one of the largest and most innovative healthcare projects worldwide.
The New Karolinska Solna University Hospital will provide specialized healthcare in close collaboration with education and research. The new hospital is planned to open in December 2015.
The new university hospital shall also contribute to the goal of the Stockholm region as a world-leader in life sciences, home of more than 60% of Sweden's life sciences industry and six universities.

Schwedisch-Britisches Konsortium baut das New Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm
Stockholm, 4. Mai 2010 Der Stockholm County Council gab gestern die Partner des Public Private Partnership (PPP) Projektes zum Bau des New Karolinska Solna University Hospital (NKS) bekannt. Das Konsortium setzt sich zusammen aus Skanska, einer schwedischen Baugesellschaft und dem britischen Investmentfond Innisfree. Partner für das Facility Management ist Coor Service Management. Das Gebäude wurde entworfen von Tengbom architects und basiert auf einem Konzept von White architects.
