Über das Unternehmen
DNA, founded in 2001, is dedicated to promoting contemporary art. It focusses primarily on Berlin based international artists.
The program accomodates a wide range of artistic media (painting, sculpture, video, installation and drawing), presented via innovative, interactive, interdisciplinary and multimedia projects. DNA has an international character, collaborating regularly with numerous galleries and institutions outside Germany.
The DNA’s objective is to provide a stage for contemporary art and stimulate the debate that surrounds it. It aims to present and foster new horizons in art, which in turn require experimental forms of exhibiting,conveying and communicating.
Prior to running a commercial gallery, the managing director Johann Nowak has been working as independent curator, realizing numerous international projects, such as The Festival of Vision, Berlin – Hongkong in collaboration with Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin (2000).

Ist schon Alles gesagt? Können wir nur noch zitieren?
Geht es in der Kunst nicht darum, das Neue zu wagen?
Angenommen, es gibt nichts Neues unter der Sonne und es ist nicht möglich, wirklich "Neues" zu schaffen, dann wäre das doch halb so schlimm. Das Neue hat lediglich die Funktion, ein Erstaunen in uns auszulösen. Im übrigen zählt doch auch nur die individuelle Perspektive: Nur das, was für mich Neu ist, kann "Neu" genannt werden. Es ist dann irrelevant, ob es in der Geschichte der Menschheit schon einmal vorkam. Vielleicht wurde es schon…
