(openPR) With the new mandatory toy safety standard (SNI) coming into force in Indonesia in 2012, and increasing market demand for safe toys in Europe and the Americas, SGS Indonesia has opened a new toy testing laboratory for toys with a range of up to 14+ years, covering both soft and plastic toys.

SGS Indonesia is pleased to announce that it has opened a new testing laboratory for toys with a marketing age range of up to 14+ years. With the regulatory landscape constantly changing, SGS is now able to offer a greater range of testing services to the Indonesian toy manufacturing market, with its new laboratory covering both soft and plastic toys.
The testing services available at the laboratory will cover the standards and regulations encompassed by EN 71, ASTM F963, AS/NZS ISO 8124, CPSC 16 CFR, SNI ISO 8124, Phthalates REACH Annex XVII, Azo Dyes REACH Annex XVII, and Cadmium REACH Annex XVII.
The tests available for clients at the laboratory cover physical, mechanical and chemical testing, as well as flammability, washability, lead content, cadmium content, and phthalates content testing.
The SGS lab in Indonesia is located in Jakarta, strategically close to the most important toy (http://www.sgs.com/toys) manufacturing region in the country. With the addition of this new lab, SGS hopes to reinforce its global network of toy laboratories across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
