(openPR) According to the recent "Wissenschaft Weltoffen 2015" ("2015 Cosmopolitan Science ") report issued by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research that the Saxon university and research system is becoming increasingly attractive worldwide. More than 10 percent of all students in Saxony come from other countries these days. This includes all students with foreign passports who obtained their university entrance qualification at a school abroad. This places Saxony fourth with its proportion of foreign students - behind Berlin, Saarland and Brandenburg.
HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management one Germany's most international universities
HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management is very attractive to foreign students. Germany's first business school is considered to be one of the most international universities in the country. In the upcoming Fall term 50 nationalities will study on the HHL campus. The Leipzig hotbed for entrepreneurs managed to score in the top ranks again in several categories of the "Profildaten zur Internationalität der deutschen Hochschulen 2014" ("2014 Profile Data on Internationality of German Universities") study within the group of the 62 smaller universities with an enrollment of up to 20,000 students. The survey was commissioned by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) and found that HHL has the largest proportion of Indian students and graduates compared to the other small universities in Germany. HHL also stands out for its mobility in the context of the European ERASMUS exchange program: the country's first business school welcomes the highest percentage of ERASMUS students to its campus in comparison with similarly-sized universities in Germany. According to the survey, HHL also has the highest proportion of students coming from France.
"I feel safe in German cities"
Peruvian Marco LLave, 39, from ESAN Graduate School of Business in Lima talks about his motivation to study in Germany. "When I was a child I already experienced German culture through contact with our then neighbors, a professor's family from Wolfsburg. Later, I worked in the Peruvian textile industry and oversaw a joint project with fashion brand Hugo Boss in the Swabian town of Metzingen. The dual diploma agreement between my home university and HHL eventually presented me with Germany and Leipzig as an option."
Studying in the U.S. was out of the question for Marco LLave. He comments, "The education in Germany hardly differs from what U.S. business schools have to offer. The marketing of the schools in the U.S. is certainly more powerful. This allows them to charge four times as much for an academic quality that is similar to the German one."
When thinking about Germany, the high level of education is the first thing that comes to Marco LLave's mind. "Although the people around here might not like you, they respect you. Here you are free to voice your opinion. Nonetheless, people respect each other. I come from Latin America, a culture that is partly characterized by harsh behaviors." According to the Peruvian graduate, education requires security. He comments, "I feel safe in the streets of Germany, no matter what time of the day it is."
