(openPR) Kaufmann Automotive GmbH presents the hardware platform RKS+CAN for test and development on the CAN-bus. Supporting WCID (Windows Compatible ID), it is easy to use on current Microsoft Windows® operating systems: Just plug in the hardware and start working, no need to care about device drivers.
The RKS+CAN comes with the KCANMonitor software for Microsoft Windows®, which is optimized for analysis, monitoring and recording of unknown data and protocols on the CAN-bus. Detailed information about the received and sent CAN messages can be displayed, as well as differences and trends between consecutive messages.
The RKS+CAN hardware uses a field upgradeable firmware that makes it future-proof and flexible. A programming interface (DLL-API) for Microsoft Windows® can be used to realize own projects that send, receive or process data on the CAN-bus. The source code of an example project is available. Additionally, the CAN hardware can be used on variable platforms (e.g. Linux) via a text based interface using an USB virtual serial port.
The intuitive concept and a short period of vocational adjustment let expect fast working results.
