Information
In 2011 the Camerata Europaea (CE) offers young music students the opportunity to take part in an international course for flute, composition or conducting. The aim of the master class is to help the young musicians develop an individual repertoire and improve their technical, musical, stylistic, interpretive and aesthetic proficiencies. The European Summer Courses will take place from 18 of July to 10 of September 2011 in Greece (Peloponnese and Athens). Workshop languages are English, German, and Greek.
In the final flute concert, with the lecturer Natalia Gerakis, to hear are two contrasting movements of a sonata by J. S. Bach, two contrasting movements of a classical, romantic or modern flute concerto, a piece chosen by the participant (contemporary music).
Selected compositions (work for orchestra, solo, chamber or electronic music) of the participants at the master class for composition with the lecturer Minas Borboudakis will be performed by the Camerata Europea-Youth symphony orchestra in one of the next concerts, which will take place in one of the famous concert halls of Berlin in the 2011/2012 season.
Under the guidance of Maria Makraki, artistic director of Camerata Europaea (CE), selected participants will have the opportunity to improve their conducting skills in practice and to conduct an upcoming rehearsal of the Camerata Europaea-Youth symphony orchestra in the artistic season 2011/2012. The program includes works selection of the participants and the four Symphonies of Johannes Brahms.
