Zentrales Sujet in der Arbeit der niederländischen Künstlerin Atty Bax ist Erotik. Ihre Objekte sind intuitiv entstanden ähnlich Tagebuchnotizen und verdichtete Erfahrungen. Ihre Bilder erinnern einerseits an primitive Skulpturen und symbolisieren andererseits die Ideenspuren des französischen Philosophen Georg Bataille: Exstase und Exzess, Tod, Gewalt, Rituale und Grenzüberschreitungen. Bax kombiniert in ihren Objekten verschiedene Materialien mit Stoffen, Fellen und Perlen.

Atty Bax studierte 1983-1988 an der Tilburg Academy of Fine Arts Textildesign, Fotografie und Film. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Tilburg / Niederlande.

The central theme in the work of the artist Atty Bax is eroticism. Her objects are intuitive, like notes in a diary, condensed experiences. She combines in these objects various utensils with textiles, furs and beads. Her images undeniably contain memories of primitive sculptures as well as traces of the ideas of the French philosopher George Bataille [1897 – 1962]: Ecstacy and excess, death, violence, rituals and the crossing of borders.
Atty Bax studied from 1983-1988 at the Tilburg Academy of Fine Arts textile design, photography and film. She lives and works in Tilburg, the Netherlands.
