„Wir freuen uns darauf, in einem internationalen Konsortium mitarbeiten zu können“, so Frau Dr. Melanie Dröttboom, zuständig für das Business Development der Artes Biotechnology GmbH. Das Erkrather Biotech-Unternehmen hat die Zusage erhalten für die „Entwicklung eines Aptamer-basierten Mikroarrays für die simultane Detektion multipler Krebsbiomarker aus Serum“. Das Projekt wird mit rund vier Millionen Euro gefördert. Neben der Artes Biotechnology GmbH werden sechs weitere Unternehmen aus Spanien, Deutschland, Israel und Frankreich an dem transnationalen Förderprogramm „Eurotransbio“ teilnehmen, das in Deutschland durch das BMBF (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung) unterstützt wird. „Durch die dreijährige Kooperation mit unseren internationalen Partnern haben wir eine hervorragende Möglichkeit unser Kompetenzfeld zu erweitern und mit einem diagnostischen Produkt neue Märkte zu betreten“, freut sich Frau Dr. Dröttboom.

Growing international reputation

„We are looking forward to work in an international team“, says proudly Dr. Melanie Dröttboom, in charge of Business Development of the Artes Biotechnology GmbH. The Biotech company in Erkrath (near Düsseldorf) has been confirmed the „development of an aptamer-based microarray for the detection of multiple cancer-biomarkers in serum”. This project will be granted with an amount of round about four millionen Euro. Apart from Artes Biotechnology GmbH there are six other companies from Spain, Germany, Israel and France involved in this transnational program „Eurotransbio“, supported by the German national BMBF (German Ministry of Education and Reserach). „This three year cooperation with our international partners enables us to enhance our facilities and gives us the chance to enter new markets with a diagnostic product“, states Dr. Dröttboom.
