Juli 2019 – Die Selbstbedienungs-Fahrradflotte des französischen Mobilitätsserviceanbieters INDIGO® weel, einer Tochtergesellschaft der INDIGO-Gruppe, wurde mit Sensoren ausgestattet, um ihren Standort über das 0G-Netz (Null-G Netz) von Sigfox jederzeit genau orten zu können. Diese Integration wird dazu beitragen, städtische Free-Floating-Fahrradflotten, die ohne Investitionen in Stations-Infrastrukturen auskommen, besser vor Vandalismus und Diebstahl zu schützen. Weiterer Nutzen ist die exakte Ortung über Apps in Echtzeit, damit Nutzer das nächste freie Fahrrad schneller und einfacher finden können. Die Sensoren lassen sich an unterschiedlichen Fahrradtypen montieren, sind für den weltweiten Einsatz konzipiert und damit auch in Deutschland einsetzbar. Wann der Vertrieb für Deutschland startet, konnte der Hersteller aktuell noch nicht mitteilen, da zuerst der Launch in Frankreich vollzogen werden muss. Es gibt weitere Sigfox 0G-Netz basierte Ortungssysteme für Fahrradapplikationen, die interessierte Anwender – von Großstädten bis zu Privatanwendern – unter partners.sigfox.com recherchieren können. Auskunft und Beratung zu Herstellern von und Lösungen für Fahrrad-Ortung, die ihre Daten über das Sigfox 0G-Netz an zentrale Clouds und Apps senden, erhalten Mobilitätsanbieter sowie Städte und Gemeinden auch direkt beim Münchener Büro von Sigfox Germany.
