(openPR) Nuremberg, 27 September 2016 – The Schur Flexibles Group, with its head office in Baden/Austria and 12 locations throughout Europe, is presenting SkinFreshTop, flexible skin top films that set benchmarks, at FachPack 2016 in Nuremberg. In this way the European corporate group is reacting to a strong trend in the sector – because versatile skin films are conquering the packaging market. Their benefits are winning over the food sector in particular. Thanks to modern barrier technologies, skin packaging products achieve a longer shelf life, captivate thanks to high quality optics and can be presented to attract attention either standing or hanging at retail.
Diverse applications, outstanding heat resistance
The SkinFreshTop films from Schur Flexibles are implemented among others for food applications and can be utilized for a broad product spectrum. From protein-rich fresh products such as poultry, meat and fish, through cooked and cured processed meats, cheese and convenience products, up to products with particularly high requirements, such as meat with bones or sharp-edged mussels. The flexible skin top films can be pasteurized and are suitable for heating up products in the microwave or water bath.
Broad spectrum of materials
Schur Flexible SkinFreshTop films are available in various thicknesses of 80 µm to 200 µm and withstand high mechanical strengths. They outstandingly seal against all common materials on a PE basis - SkinFreshTop films are distinguished by the use of specific sealing layers. This ensures a perfect area sealing of the pack, even through contaminated sealing areas – thus ensuring highest product safety. The pack can be opened without problems. The innovative skin films are equipped with an EVOH high-barrier, which demonstrates an excellent barrier effect against oxygen and aromas. Schur SkinFreshTop solutions have proved an outstanding machinability and can be run on all common skin thermoformers and tray sealers.
Fair novelty – extended skin portfolio
There is also a new development among the highlights from the Schur Flexibles Group at FachPack 2016. Taking into account the trend for barrier-free bottom films and trays, the corporate group is premiering to showcase skin solutions that can be sealed trouble-free against mono PP and APET films and trays.
Outstanding optics – perfect marketing tool
All SkinFreshTop films from Schur Flexibles further convince thanks to their outstanding printability. Using flexoprint-technology the films are printed by sandwich printing. Here, the print motif is applied between two or more multilayer laminates and thus protected against abrasion or scratches. This printing process prevents the print-ink from coming into contact with the packed product, ensuring highest food safety. This printing technique is also perfect for branding measures: the coating over the print image gives it a unique gloss and intense colour - thus achieving a particularly high-quality appeal at retail.
