The announcement underscores Wondery's strategy of continuing to create German-language podcasts and expanding its portfolio of international shows. Wondery already started its first original British podcast British Scandal in April , which landed at number 1 on Apple Podcasts in Great Britain. The company counted 34 # 1 shows on Apple Podcasts to date and was responsible for 10 of the top 20 new US shows in 2020, with hits like Dr. Death, The Apology Line, Even the Rich, and Business Wars . The new measures are based on a study at the end of 2020, which says that a third (33%) of all Germans have already listened to podcasts *.
Live starting June 15, WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork reveals the story of the company that was on the verge of making history, only to suddenly disappear. The company was valued at $ 47 billion and was ready for a gigantic IPO while charismatic CEO Adam Neumann was poised to change the world. Adam had a prophetic vision for WeWork that he sold to some of the world's most accomplished investors - but did his vision ever match the company's reality? The 10th part of the German-language series Kampf der Firmen , which also starts on June 15, deals with the battle between two of the best-known and most popular names in the entertainment industry, which have sparked the world's imaginations: Marvel vs DC . This multi-episode series traces the history of companies from the 1960s to the modern day, looking at their most successful and well-known characters and titles. Business Wars has regularly topped the Apple podcast business charts in Germany in the past.
Innovations will be launched as the third new release : VR on June 12th and traces the history of VR back to the 1960s, when a group of scientists and engineers had the vision of one day immersing people in a new world with the help of special glasses. Innovations: Video Games takes a closer look at the trillion-dollar gaming industry and examines how video games erupted from university computer labs and conquered popular culture and gaming as it is today.
The three podcasts are synchronized by the German business commentator Alexander Langer, address both podcast fans and new listeners to the medium and discuss topics such as business, technology and entertainment. Each season covers incredible stories in depth, carefully researched and substantiated using all of the information and evidence available. At the end of each season, we hear subject matter experts who examine the wider global impact and the resulting issues for society.
